From the Principal’s Desk….
Well done to Rang 6, who together with the wonderful help, support and guidance of Annie and Rita, put together a fantastic performance of the musical The Sound of Music today! Thanks to Emily and Paul for all their support also. The team work, collaboration, talent and effort that went into this performance was absolutely amazing! Also thank you to Rang 5, who worked very hard to learn all the songs and provided a beautiful chorus for the performance. We are so very proud of you all! Broadway is definitely calling…with the sound of music!!!
A note to flag that RMDS will be closed on Friday, 8th March as the school will be used as a polling station for the referendum due to be held on that date.
I would also like to wish you all a wonderful midterm break and I hope you get a chance to rest with your nearest and dearest. School will reopen on Monday, 19th February @ 8.30 a.m.
Finally, I would like to thank you for all the lovely well wishes as I take my maternity leave today and leave you in the very capable hands of Paul Fairbrother, who will be Acting Principal, along with Aoileann Farley, Acting Deputy Principal.

Congratulations to Ann Maguire on her appointment to an SNA position within RMDS.
A brief reminder to everyone that EasyPay is now closed and any recurring payments will need to be set up on Payzone e.g. Childcare or Voluntary Contributions. Please do contact the office if there are any queries.
Finally, the BOM would like to wish Rosemarie all the best for her upcoming leave and look forward to working with Paul Fairbrother as the Acting Principal and Aoileann Farley as Acting Deputy Principal over the coming months.

For one night only the school magically turns into a cinema with 4 different screenings!

€5 a ticket for each child/adult
(Includes one goodie bag for the children or a drink for the adults!)
Now for the best part…. The 4 movies to choose from are….
Limited places available so book early to avoid disappointment!
Doors open at 7pm, with movies starting shortly thereafter.
Each child must have an adult on the school premises for the entire event – this is not a drop and collect event.
It’s a great chance to catch up with other parents at the (once a year) school bar!
Also appealing for willing and enthusiastic parents to volunteer to help on the night – your chance to act as bouncers, bar staff, ushers, film technicians etc.
Please get in touch with your Class Rep if you have a few hours to spare.
