The window for enrolment is open until the 25th October, we currently have 8 siblings listed which is less than normal and I would not like anyone to miss the chance to avail of sibling priority. Barbara spotted two families who hadn’t ticked the sibling box please check that you have. If you haven’t put your child’s name down please use the link on the school website to do this.
I would also like to remind you that the school will be closed this Thursday 10th October for a Maths curriculum training day.
Our Junior Infants had the chance to get their vaccines this week and had a very different kind of day meeting the lovely doctors and nurses in the GP room.
We will be hosting a nasal flu vaccination clinic in the GP room on Monday 21st October,

With the busyness of September over we are now settled into a routine. I bumped into Rang a 5 interviewing their buddies this morning and they were having such lovely and engaging conversations. It is lovely seeing some of our senior children going on jobs throughout the school and knowing so many children other than just their siblings' friends.
I’m looking forward to seeing the class photos which were taken on Monday. I thought we were a very photogenic bunch.
We had to change to a new cleaning service this year and they are significantly more expensive than our previous providers. As a green initiative and a cost saving one we are going to look at our use of individual towels instead of going through large amounts of disposable ones which take energy and resources to make and dispose of. The green school committee will have more details next week.
The Green School committee have had a very busy start to the year. The big beach clean up had teams of children patrolling the streets, parks and alleys around us and they are all much improved because of it. It has been a nice community event and several of our neighbours commented on it and what a good initiative it was.
Rang a 6 have been campaigning to become the chairs of the Student Council. I listened to some very persuasive presentations this afternoon and I’m looking forward to working with the successful candidates.
