Thank you all for such wonderful attendance at the class meetings. I hope that you found them useful and if you have any feedback regarding the meetings I’d love to hear from you.
Thank you to those of you who have logged onto the Aladdin connect app to consent or not to the use of your child’s photos in the newsletter, website and Instagram account. Some people have yet to answer that question and I’d appreciate it if you could log into the connect app and fill it in as soon as possible.
Next week will see the start of Forest School for Rang a 3. Moya and Claudia have been busy planning the term's work. Claudia who is as inventive and creative as ever has been looking at ways of creating different natural colours and dyes which I am very excited about. I’m sure the children will be too.
As I arrived at school this morning, I was greeted with the sound of 60ish voices singing so beautifully and my day got off to a great start. The work that Aoileann and Therese do with the children is so appreciated and thank you also to all the parents who manage to get their children out of the house early ready to take part.
Rang a 6 will be leading our assembly next week. They will be talking about our core values and personally I’m looking forward to the whole school coming together for the first time this year. The work of the choir is really starting to show in these assemblies as the quality of the whole school singing just keeps getting better and better. Poor Neysa is hampered by me taking a large chunk of her class for football training. The Rang 5 agus a 6 team are playing brilliantly together and are showcasing everything that we try to teach them. They are very kind to each other and to their opponents. Yesterday I overheard some of the children talking about how they had made friends with some of the students from Canal Way. They have been very respectful of others as they made their way to the match. Some of the passengers on the S2 commented on how nice the children were and picked up on their excitement. I didn’t recognise the young lady who stopped me and introduced herself as a past pupil and then our star corner back realised it was her Buddy from when she was in Junior Infants. Our students go off into the world and we only occasionally find out what they get up to. I had a lovely chat about linguistics and all the languages she is studying. I was also delighted to hear that Irish was one of them.
Have a lovely weekend everyone,
Paul
