Tis the Season . . . . only 16 sleeps to go till the RMDS Xmas Fair!!! A little info ahead of the big event:
Christmas Wreaths
Maria Vlahos is once again arranging the Xmas Wreaths for the Fair this year. Wreaths will sell out very quickly, as they do each year - pre-order is now available from the EASYPAYMENT PLUS link on the School Website. Don't delay!!!
Stall Volunteers
We have an amazing array of Xmas Stalls this year - many of the old favourites, and some fantastic new stalls too! We do need lots of parent volunteers to help out for short stints on the day. If you can offer up some time - please email avrilwhelan@hotmail.com. You can also sign up to help when we are on the school gate the mornings prior to the fair. Thanks to all who have already volunteered.
Christmas Fair Fodder
We will again run the Christmas Cafe and Rudolph’s Restaurant this year. Feedback re cost last year noted. Again, the week before the event, we will be on the gate looking for people to sign up to donating a soup/a stew or some baked goods. PLEASE REMEMBER - NO NUTS.
Raffle Prizes
The Christmas Raffle is a big part of the day! We have some great raffle prizes already donated. If you have a prize you can donate, or a voucher you can scrounge (!), please let Naomi Masterson know - naomi_masterson@yahoo.com
Santa's Toy Shop & Mrs Claus Secondhand Shop
The secondhand toy shop is always a big hit with the children! We will gratefully accept all of your excellent condition toys and teddies the week beginning 28th November. Please no children's books.
A new addition this year is Mrs Claus Secondhand Shop. The Senior Infants room will be turned into a Festive Shop offering Gently Worn clothes and once loved Novels. Please bring in any items that you wish to donate to the shop the week of the 28th November. All secondhand items and toys can be left in the corridor outside the resource rooms.
Christmas Fair Gate Activity
The PA and the student council will be on the gate mornings of: November 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th & 30th.
Thank you in advance for all of the Festive support! Keep an eye out for the posters which will have full event info - and don't forget to spread the word!
Ho ho ho!

From the Executive Committee (Patron):
Dear all,
As per previous communication we were due to conduct an ethos review this year.
The review involves the participation of 4 main bodies - the parents, the students, the staff and the school boards.
The staff are very keen to get involved but due to an INTO directive they cannot participate at this time.
We cannot conduct a comprehensive review without full participation from all four bodies so the decision has been made to defer commencement of the review until September 2017.
We hope to use the time we have left in this academic year to refresh ourselves on what our ethos is.
The Patron/Executive Committee
From the Green School Committee:
The Green School Committee recently carried out a Travel survey among
Rang 1-Rang 6 to find out what are our habits for travelling to and from school every day.
The results of the survey are now complete and are on display on the Green School Noticeboard outside the school office.
If you would like to read further we have included the graphs with the results of our findings.
We plan to have plenty of Travel themed lessons this year and next to see if we can effect change to further improve our travel habits and help the environment.
Stay tuned!
